Arizona
Uilleann Pipers Society (AUPS) is a community of
uilleann piping enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and promoting
interest in the Irish bagpipes, as well as providing related resources,
instruction, and services in Arizona.
AUPS was founded by Phoenix uilleann piper Caven Clark and was
officially established in the year 2000. The first formal gathering
of AUPS took place that October at The Fiddler's Dream in Phoenix,
Arizona and featured guest piping instructor Patrick D'Arcy of
Southern California. Since then, the society has worked together
to organize numerous piping and reedmaking workshops with guest
instructors from around the country.
AUPS occasionally hosts meetings for local uilleann pipers which
usually take place in either Tucson or Phoenix and invites anyone
who is interested in the uilleann pipes to attend. If you're in
Arizona or even just passing through, we'd like to meet you! For
more information regarding upcoming meetings, please feel free
to email us
or subscribe to our Yahoo Group below to receive email updates.
Uilleann pipers are few and far between, and help is very hard
to find. AUPS is happy to be of any assistance. If we can't help
directly, we can do our best to point you in the right direction!

We had a great turnout and both the piping and the
reedmaking just keep getting better every time! Some
pictures have been posted on the Photo
Gallery page. Thanks again to everyone who made
it out, and for those who couldn't make it, hope to
see you next time!

We've received word of a couple
noteworthy piping related events
next month in Arizona!
A trio featuring John Whelan, Charlene Adzima,
and Zac Leger will be performing September 17th in
Tucson and September 18th in Phoenix. If we can gauge
enough interest, we may be able to put together an
uilleann piping workshop with Zac Leger as well. Click
here for details and updates.
Northumbrian piper Dick Hensold will be performing
at the ICC in Phoenix and conducting a piping workshop
on September 28th. Click
